Superior Vacuum
The Dominator features MD Pneumatics' #4007 vacuum pump (447 C.F.M. @ 15" hg / 576 CFM free air flow). It also features superior airflow efficiency (vacuum) throughout the system, from input to exhaust port, resulting in unparallelled vacuum effeciency. It also features a unique compound silencing system, with (2) Stoddard D33 series industrial silencers, connected in parallel to the system output.
As a result, sound levels are minimized, without significant "back pressure" on the exhaust side of the vacuum system. This maintains the airflow efficiency (vacuum) of the system.
The 3.0" input port of the vacuum pump is connected via a 16" long, 3.5" industrial suction hose to the recovery tank, in order to keep the connection as short and straight as possible. This combination results in extreme airflow effeciency on the vacuum side of the system airway. As a result, sound levels are minimized, without significant airflow restriction on the intake side, or "back pressure" on the exhaust side of the vacuum system.
Superior Heat
The Dominator features a 260,000 B.T.U., propane-fueled water heater, rated at 10,000 P.S.I., which can produce a temperature increase of 220° F over the incoming water's temperature (typical incoming temp is about 65° F) at a flow rate of 2.1 G.P.M. (600 P.S.I. through an 06 jet). This ensures that there is enough heat for the toughest job, even while in dual wand operation. All controls for the heater are accessible from the front of the system.
Compact Design
The vacuum pump is placed behind the engine. This keeps the console compact (console "footprint" is only 19" W x 48"L), yet allows easy access to all components. The recovery tank (18" W x 57" L) sits next to the system, resulting in an "overall footprint" of 40" W x 57" L for the entire system. However, the Dominator's recovery tank is designed to be positioned along the backs of the seats, from the van door to the opposite wall, in an area that is wasted by conventional designs. Due to the unique design of the recovery tank, 7" of its effective width is under the seats of the van, resulting in an "effective system width" of only 33.5". The weight of the tank is spread across the van, so that the suspension system of the van is noticeably more balanced than with conventional designs, in which the tank is against the far wall.
Versatile The Dominator's vacuum can be utilized for flood damage restoration work by turning "OFF" the pressure supply pump. (Easily accomplished with the flick of a toggle switch, due to the electric clutch on the solution pump: standard on all Dominator systems.) Due to the high heat and pressure (10,000 P.S.I.) capability of the heater, it can also be used for medium-duty hot or cold pressure washing.
